Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team as an independent contractor. This role is designed for a practitioner who values clinical freedom, competitive compensation, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team of specialists.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment: Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions to determine therapy needs for a diverse pediatric and youth caseload.
- Direct Service: Develop and implement individualized support plans aligned with client goals and medical directives.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor client progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside our OTs, Behavior Consultants, and Counsellors to ensure integrated care plans.
- Family-Centered Care: Provide parent consultation and family support integration.
- Community Integration: Opportunity to consult or lead components of our STEM Social Groups, Summer Camps, and our other group programs
- Documentation: Maintain high-quality clinical records and progress reports in a timely manner
- Service Delivery: Services can be delivered through direct sessions, through supervision and consultation with SLP-As, and/or through providing regular consultation to the client's behavior/occupational therapy team. Consultations may be provided either in-person or virtually.
Requirements
- AMaster's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) and Registered Autism Service Providers of BC (RASP List).
- A neurodiversity-affirming approach and commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed practice
- Excellent client care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to individual needs.
- Possesses strong organizational skills and the ability to manage your own schedule and caseload as a contractor
- Experience working with pediatric populations (autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, Down Syndrome, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Strong case management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary care plans.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while managing multiple cases efficiently.
- Must be willing to provide home-based sessions to a small portion of their caseload (within Vancouver, South Burnaby, or Richmond). Travel will be compensated.
