We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Radiation Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using various radiation modalities. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care while adhering to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
Duties to include:
- Preparing and administrating radioactive agents to patients and performing nuclear medicine procedures;
- Acting within the policies, procedures, work practices and license conditions of the nuclear medicine department and in compliance with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Regulations;
- Performing quality control checks on all imaging equipment, thyroid well and uptake unit;
- Communicating effectively with patients, DI staff, physicians and radiologist;
- Determining the proper camera and correct image parameters, collimator, computer combination and any other accessory equipment required for the procedure;
- Performing radio-pharmacy rotation, preparation and qc of radiopharmaceuticals and dose calibrator check,
- Ensuring reagents and kits are stocked and rotated to assure expiration dates are current other related duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have successful completion of a formal study in Nuclear Medicine as a Medical Radiation Technologist from a recognized program.
- Must be registered with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), the College of Allied Health Professionals of Prince Edward Island (CAHPPEI); and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists-Atlantic (CAMRT-ATL);
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required;
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a multi-disciplinary team is required;
- Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record;
- Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $34.57 - $42.42 per hour
Bi-Weekly Hours: 75 Hours Bi-Weekly Rotating Shifts Days (Evenings, Weekends, Holidays and On Call as Necessary)
