Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Banquet Captain to oversee and coordinate banquet service operations at our prestigious venue. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food service background, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Banquet Captain, you will manage event setups, supervise staff, ensure food safety standards, and maintain seamless service flow to uphold our reputation for excellence in hospitality and event management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise banquet service staff to ensure efficient and professional delivery of food and beverage services during events.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on food preparation, presentation, and timing to meet event schedules.
- Oversee food handling, safety procedures, and proper serving techniques in compliance with health regulations.
- Manage event setups including table arrangements, buffet stations, and equipment to meet client specifications.
- Supervise the serving team during events, ensuring high-quality customer service and adherence to service standards.
- Handle POS transactions using Micros POS or similar systems for billing and payments.
- Assist with interviewing, training, and evaluating staff performance to build a competent team.
- Maintain communication with clients to address special requests or concerns promptly.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of the banquet area before, during, and after events.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately during events involving sales or payments.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience in food service or restaurant management roles.
- Extensive food industry background including food preparation, cooking, serving, and food safety protocols.
- Demonstrated team management skills with experience in training and supervising staff in hospitality settings.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms for order processing and billing.
- Prior experience in hotel or restaurant environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling regulations, kitchen operations, and hospitality standards is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership abilities combined with excellent customer service skills to ensure memorable guest experiences.
