Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder / Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Elliot Lake, ON. In this role, you will be involved in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of specialized boom trucks and scissor lifts used in the mining industry. This is a hands-on position that combines welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building high-quality equipment from the ground up.
The successful candidate will have strong welding skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work from engineering drawings while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on structural steel and fabricated components.
- Perform TIG welding when required.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and assembly instructions.
- Assist with the mechanical assembly of boom trucks, scissor lifts, and related equipment.
- Operate fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, drill presses, grinders, band saws, and other shop equipment.
- Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring tools.
- Identify and resolve fit-up and fabrication issues during production.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet manufacturing schedules.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding (TIG welding experience is considered an asset).
- Mechanical aptitude with experience assembling or repairing heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or fabricated products.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
- Experience operating fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, grinders, drill presses, band saws, and other shop tools.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems is considered an asset.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools and perform accurate layout and fit-up.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts is considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn new manufacturing processes and continuously develop technical skills.
Pay: $25.00-$34.00 per hour
