Are you passionate about cheese and excellent customer service? We are seeking enthusiastic Part Time Cheese Lovers to join our team! Springbank Cheese Co. in Marda Loop is currently looking for a seasonal, part-time employee to join our small team. We have a lot of fun and are looking for the right person to complement our small team of dedicated cheese nerds! The ideal candidate has a passion for food (CHEESE), beer/wine, and excels in a customer service focused environment. The ideal candidate would:
Responsibilities
- Be able to work throughout the week as required and definitely be available on Saturday and Sunday. This is a PART-TIME position that may require additional flexibility.
- This is a customer-facing position that requires creativity, flexibility, and the willingness help our clients have the BEST experience EVERY time.
- Be able to work alone or as part of a team and have the ability to make timely decisions and prioritize work load as needed.
- Have a customer FIRST attitude and enjoy talking to and working with customers to ensure their visit is outstanding every time.
- At the very least, have an interest in food and a strong willingness to learn about all things related to cheese. Cheese shop or food service background would be considered assets but a strong passion for food is a must.
- Have a working knowledge or interest in exploring food and beverage pairings as well as general entertaining and planning knowledge.
- Work in and keep a clean and organized environment while adhering to all safe food handling and packaging methods and policies.
- Have a basic working knowledge of computers and applications.
- Have the ability to handle cash and perform basic counting and arithmetic as required to operate Point of Sale terminal and balance End of Day Sales.
- Have current Proserve. Food handling certification would be an additional asset.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or cashiering is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately
- Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a retail or restaurant setting
- Ability to work part-time hours with flexible scheduling options
