Position Overview:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing water treatment operations during assigned rotations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. This role provides direction to Lead Operators and Operators, supports real-time decision-making, and ensures continuity of operations across shifts in a remote, site-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all operational activities during the assigned shift to maintain safe and compliant performance
- Provide direction and support to Lead Operators and Operators, ensuring alignment with daily priorities and operational requirements
- Monitor system performance and respond to changing conditions, alarms, or operational issues
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of operational logs, reports, and documentation
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to address operational impacts and prioritize required work
- Promote and enforce safety, environmental, and site procedures across all activities
- Lead shift handovers and communicate site status, risks, and priorities to incoming teams
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience working in industrial water treatment operations with at least 1 year in supervisory role is required. Work experience in cold climate, northern region preferred
- WSCC Certification (Level I or II) is required
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required
- ·Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate operational records
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Work Environment:
- Remote project site with a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) rotational work schedule
- In town accommodation provided during rotations
- Exposure to outdoor conditions and variable weather depending on site location
