Job Title: Journeyman HVAC Technician
Job Summary: As a Journeyman HVAC Technician, you understand that safety is the number one priority. You are driven and motivated to be a part of our dynamic team, serving both Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
Responsibilities:
- Safety: Participate in safe work practices, tool-box meetings, and hazard assessments.
- Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on various mechanical systems (boilers, furnaces, HVAC, etc.).
- Repairs: Diagnose HVAC issues, perform HVAC system repairs, maintenance, calibration, and balancing.
- Procurement: Order parts and follow service contract guidelines as prescribed by the client.
- Reporting: Update maintenance logs and provide detailed reporting of tasks and activities.
- Leadership: Lead by example to collaborate with apprentices and coworkers in completing tasks efficiently.
- Client Relations: Maintain positive, professional business relations with clients and coworkers.
- Collaboration: Work with estimating and sales teams to provide material take-offs on upcoming scopes.
Qualifications:
- Safety: Ability to follow safe procedures and PPE requirements while performing tasks.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience with commercial/industrial HVAC and mechanical systems. Industrial project experience is an asset.
- Certification: Journeyman Ticket, B Gas Fitter minimum and Class A Gas Fitter Certification a bonus.
- Sheet Metal Experience: Experience with sheet metal work related to HVAC installations and repairs.
- License: Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Reporting: Experience providing accurate and timely reporting.
- Adaptability: Robust ability to adapt to continually shifting priorities.
- Proactiveness: Sense of urgency, proactive nature, and the ability to make judgment calls.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
- Codes of Practice: Thorough understanding of applicable Codes of Practice.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Skills: Competence using computer software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Additional Information:
- This is NOT a camp job although some jobs may involve staying in camp.
- LOA available for days worked.
- Monthly Flight Allowance
- Compressed work week, 14 and 14 shift cycle, up to 12-hour days, paid bi-weekly.
