Responsibilities
- Lead job sites as the on-site representative of NDS Integration, ensuring high-quality AV installations
- Install and configure audio, video, and control systems based on detailed project specifications
- Commission AV systems: program, test, and troubleshoot to ensure complete functionality
- Handle complex AV and network installations: cable pulls, soldering, crimping, and terminations
- Interpret AV schematics and construction drawings in collaboration with PMs and designers
- Produce and maintain accurate as-built documentation
- Troubleshoot system issues and deliver effective, forward-thinking solutions
- Provide training and support to end-users on system operation and maintenance
- Act as the primary point of contact on job sites—professionalism and communication are key
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to skills development within the team
- Maintain a clean, safe job site and adhere to all safety regulations
- Manage tools, inventory, and service van readiness
- Coordinate logistics for transporting and staging equipment
- Regularly communicate status updates, challenges, and solutions to Project Managers
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in AV installation and commissioning (including AV-over-IP systems)
- Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Shure, Biamp, Q-SYS, Crestron, CST-I)
- Advanced understanding of AV systems, best installation practices, and signal flow
- Experience with Q-Sys, Tesira, Control4, Crestron, Novastar, etc.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting AV plans, with ability to create as-built documentation
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Confident using tools required for
- AV installs (power drills, cutters, crimpers, etc.)
- Familiarity with IP networking (IP addressing, subnets, VLANs)
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor
Preferred but Not Required
- Smaart or Rational Acoustics training
- Scissor/Boom lift certification
- First Aid certification
- Experience with LED walls and Novastar processors
- Proficiency in Photoshop or visual editing software
- Ability to write end-user manuals and technical documentation
