Job Overview
The Flats Eatery + Drink is seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Supervisor to lead our back-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong leadership skills. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will help oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain food quality standards, and support the development of a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during daily operations
- Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Assist with scheduling, training, and coaching kitchen team members
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
- Manage inventory, product rotation, and ordering needs as directed
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods and work various stations when needed
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house and management teams to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in a restaurant or hospitality kitchen preferred
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Excellent understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to train, motivate, and support team members
