Interlake School Division invites applications for a Part Time / TERM School Social Worker.
Start Date -September 8, 2025
End Date: June 30, 2027
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work, be registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers, and hold or be eligible for a Manitoba School Clinician Certificate in Social Work.
Responsibilities include:
- consulting with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and community agencies to provide supportive services that contribute to student success
- providing individual counselling and support to students in the school setting
- using a strengths-based assessment approach to understand student needs, family context, attendance concerns, and barriers to school engagement in order to support meaningful planning
- supporting families through consultation, collaboration, and connection to helpful resources
- working alongside school teams to support student planning, problem-solving, and coordinated interventions
- supporting students with social, emotional, behavioural, family, and attendance-related needs
- strengthening home-school-community collaboration
- making referrals to community agencies and collaborating with external service providers as required
- providing education and support to staff and families related to student well-being, mental health, and social-emotional development
- supporting crisis response, student re-entry planning, and other student service needs as required
- maintaining confidential documentation and communicating plans and updates appropriately, following applicable privacy legislation
- organizing, prioritizing, and assuming responsibility for managing an independent caseload
Specific Requirement: valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
