## Job Overview
We are hiring Field Operators / Technicians for a natural gas power generation project located near Fort Nelson in Northern British Columbia.
The role is responsible for daily inspection, operation monitoring, routine maintenance, record keeping, and on-site support for natural gas generator units and related equipment.
This position is suitable for candidates with experience in mechanical maintenance, engines, generators, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, oil and gas sites, mining sites, construction sites, or other remote industrial projects.
## Key Responsibilities
* Perform daily inspections of natural gas generator units and related equipment;
* Monitor and record equipment operating status, site conditions, and relevant operating data;
* Independently complete routine equipment maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacement, belt checks, coolant checks, pipeline checks, and general equipment condition checks;
* Report equipment abnormalities in a timely manner and assist the site supervisor or technical team in resolving issues;
* Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting;
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area;
* Complete daily inspection logs, maintenance records, and handover records as required;
* Follow all site safety rules, procedures, and operational requirements;
* Complete other related tasks assigned by site management.
## Requirements
* Legally authorized to work in Canada;
* Must hold a valid Canadian full driver’s licence, such as a BC Class 5, Ontario G, or equivalent;
* Ability to safely perform essential site duties in a remote industrial environment, with reasonable accommodation where required;
* Previous experience in mechanical repair, engines, generators, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, oil and gas, mining, or construction site equipment maintenance is preferred;
* Able to use common hand tools and maintenance tools;
* Experience with equipment inspection, routine maintenance, or field operations is preferred;
* Able to work on-site in a remote area of Northern BC;
* Able to accept a 3-month on-site / 1-month paid leave rotation;
* Responsible, safety-conscious, reliable, and willing to follow site management instructions;
* H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, or other oil and gas / industrial safety certificates are considered an asset.
## Language Requirements
* Ability to communicate clearly in English for safety, shift handover, and maintenance records is required;
* Mandarin Chinese is considered an asset.
## Work Arrangement
* 1-year fixed-term contract;
* 3 months on-site work followed by 1 month paid leave;
* Accommodation and meals provided by the project;
* Workwear and tools provided by the project;
* Transportation within Canada to and from the project site will be arranged by the project;
* Strong performers may be considered for salary adjustment and contract renewal, depending on project needs.
