Vermette Contracting Ltd. is currently seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing team. This position involves maintenance and repair of semi trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment in a fast-paced work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain highway trucks and trailers
- Service and repair heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders, etc.)
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections
- Repair engines, braking systems, driveline, suspension, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Complete work orders and inspection reports
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Heavy Duty Mechanic experience required
- Red Seal Journeyperson an asset (not mandatory)
- Experience with Cummins, Cat, Paccar engines considered an asset
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license (Class 1 an asset)
- Own tools preferred
Work Details:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday (overtime available)
- Shop and field work may be required
