Within the Public Service Delivery Department, the Asset Management division is looking to fill an Assistant Facility Manager position.

Duties:
Under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager, the Assistant Facility Manager assists in the management and operation of the facility ensuring the client department has a safe, clean and well-maintained environment in which to carry out their programs. Responsibilities may include: repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, life safety systems, and plumbing systems. The Assistant Facility Manager's primary responsibility is maintenance management of the facility. Other responsibilities may include: maintaining client relationships, participating in capital asset management, human resource management, and budget management for the facility.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Post Secondary certificate/diploma in a related field such as a 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate and/or equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
- Experience in a facility/property managed environment including the operation and maintenance of HVAC, life safety systems, Direct Digital Control operations and grounds maintenance
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints including architectural and building mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures and relevant safety policies and legislation.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, contractors and members of the public.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to complete a variety of reports and checklist.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desired:
- Experience using SAP (or comparable software) for Plant Maintenance and Materials Management.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Experience in the administration of budgets including cash-flow reporting, purchasing and procurement, and inventory management.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5F Drivers Licence without restrictions and be capable of traveling within the District and staying overnight
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, Child and Abuse Registry Checks
- Satisfactory Enhanced Security Screening
- Must be physically capable of performing the required activities of the position including wearing personal protective equipment, working at heights and confined spaces and adverse weather conditions
