About the Role
We are seeking a professional, reliable Security Guard to support our evening networking events on an on-call basis. The role focuses on ensuring guest safety, maintaining a welcoming environment, and assisting with basic crowd management during short-duration professional events.
Responsibilities
- Monitor entry and exit points during networking events
- Verify guest lists and manage check-in when required
- Ensure a safe, professional, and respectful environment for all attendees
- Respond calmly and appropriately to any disturbances or security concerns
- Support event staff with basic crowd flow and room capacity management
- Report any incidents or irregularities to event organizers
- Maintain a visible, approachable, and professional presence throughout the event
Requirements
- Previous security, hospitality, or event experience preferred
- Valid security license (as required by Quebec regulations)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Reliability and punctuality are essential
- Fluent in English or French (bilingual is an asset)
Schedule & Availability
- On-call position for networking events
- Typical shifts: Weeknights, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Events are held quarterly, with occasional additional dates depending on demand
- Flexibility is important as events are scheduled in advance and occasionally added
