Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Tasting Room Associate to join our retail team. The position would be for both of our Tasting Rooms (Beamsville and Jordan). The Tasting Room Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and exceptional customer experience while conducting wine tastings and experiences. A Tasting Room Associate has excellent communication skills, has a passion for wine, and provides an exceptional level of customer service and hospitality to all guests, with a focus on exceeding sales and wine club membership goals.
Duties
- Provide guests with an educational, engaging and enjoyable wine tasting experience
- Conduct private winery experiences and events, including food and wine pairing experiences and winery tours
- Perpetuate the highest standards of hospitality
- Continuing wine knowledge of the Ontario region and worldwide wine education
- Ensure accuracy while cashing out customers using the POS system and handling cash
- Ensure cleanliness of tasting room floors, kitchen, and storage areas, including wine stock and organization of inventory and supplies
- Assist customers with phone orders, reservations, and other inquiries
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1+ year(s) experience in retail and/or hospitality management
- Relevant professional certifications, i.e. WSET, considered an asset
- A proven track record in hospitality, retail sales, and club memberships
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with guests, staff, and industry peers
- Smart Serve Certification
- Food Handler’s Certification obtained within 3 months of employment
Working Environment
- Part-time
- Varying shift dates and times, weekends and holidays are required
- Attendance at after-hours events may be required
- Occasional travel required
- Valid driver’s license and transportation necessary for both locations
- Ability to lift 40lbs
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.60-$18.10 per hour
