Job Description:
The Faculty of Continuing Education is seeking an instructor with the ability to teach the following course(s) in the Massage Therapy Diploma:
Demonstrate treatment management protocols for musculoskeletal and systemic conditions, post-surgical cases, and several stages of life. Expand and refine the foundational skills acquired in Treatments I. This blended course has an online lecture and face-to-face hands-on practice components.
- Mondays and Wednesdays
- September 9, 2026 - December 14, 2026
- 4:30 pm - 7:30pm
The instructor is responsible for instruction using the approved curriculum, implementation of applicable curriculum assessment measures, and marking and submitting final course grades. The instructor will also be required to maintain regular contact with the administration team and adhere to program policies and deadlines. Students in this class are part of the Massage Therapy Diploma Program.
- Instruction: course delivery including preparation of course outline, course activities, lesson preparation and assessments, and course Blackboard site; and
- Administration: submit course attendance sheets, course outline signature forms, input final grades upon course completion, and participate in scheduled program meetings.
- Post-secondary credential in a related field
- Minimum two years in the program specific industry
- Proficient understanding of the Inter-Jurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators for Massage Therapists at Entry-to-Practice.
- Working knowledge of copyright and APA citation
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with accreditation
- Minimum two years of experience of instructional experience in an adult education environment
- Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to apply them effectively in instructional settings
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
- Proficiency with the D2L learning management system is an asset
