The Fredericton Convention Centre is seeking a dynamic individual to assume the role of Coordinator, a front-of-house position responsible for daily guest interactions.
Reporting to the Director of Events, the Coordinator will support the Sales/Event Teams and the Administration Lead as needed, and is responsible for the following:
- Serve as the point of contact for clients and communicate with them by telephone, email, and in-person to respond to booking inquiries, questions, and requests in a friendly and timely manner.
- Administrative duties including invoicing, data entry & reporting.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with Banquet, Kitchen and Audio-Visual departments to ensure clients’ expectations are met and exceeded.
- Work with clients to gain knowledge of their event details; prepare sales-related documents (e.g., proposals, contracts) and prepare banquet event orders for a successful transition to the service delivery team.
- Coordinate events within established parameters, including internal events and familiarization tours.
- Apply FCC policies, service standards, and standard operating procedures while exercising sound judgment to resolve routine questions and unexpected situations independently.
- Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing operational needs, maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent credentials.
- Exceptional customer service skills; experience in tourism, hospitality, or a related customer-focused environment is considered an asset.
- Highly organized with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & other business technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Conversational French language preferred.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
