Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Training and Employment Services, the Team Lead, Employment Services is responsible for oversight of the delivery of employment related services to clients. The Team Lead will support the Intake Administrators for both the Integrated Employment Support program (IES) and the Skills Development Training program (SDF).
The Team Lead will oversee the recruitment and maintenance of the participants in the Women’s Healthcare Pathways (SDF) as well as support the clients enrolled in IES program.
Overall, the Team Lead will support the team to manage the client experience from intake to employment, connect clients to appropriate programs and training, fulfilling Street Haven’s mission to provide integrated support for women as they move forward in their own journey.
Key Responsibilities

Support Intake/Outreach staff to refer clients through the training pathway: pre training support, training (PSW or HSW), providing support as required, leading to successful employment opportunities.

Maintain statistics on client enrollment, progress and graduation from training

Work with a reduced caseload of clients in both IES and SDF to support their progress toward employment and/or training

Assisting participants to develop resumes and cover letters ensuring they are effective and appropriate representations of the participants’ skills and qualifications

Supporting participants in conducting job search based on realistic and accurate assessment of qualifications and employer expectations through research of information provided within posting

Coaching, supporting, and monitoring participants in the initial stages of employment

Administration of financial supports to clients as needed

Developing and maintaining accurate and detailed reports, cases notes and documentation related participants’ progress; creating individualized service plans to support client progress toward employment

Support with client queries and application submissions for Better Jobs Ontario (BJO)
programming -
Managing individual administrative duties: data entry in all databases (FFAI, CAMS) completing necessary paperwork, maintaining participant records as required

Attending meetings as required

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

A post-secondary education in Career and Work Counseling, Adult Education or a related field and/or a combination of related work experience

Strong knowledge of labour market trends, employment counselling and presentation techniques to facilitate adult learning

A strong desire to work with people who face multiple barriers to employment

Solid interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent skills using Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge of the challenges experienced by clients who face barriers
Working Environment

Days with occasional evenings and weekends

On site at the office, and various Street Haven locations

The environment is dynamic and unpredictable and involves regular exposure to clients who have been homeless and are living with challenges associated with mental health and addictions.
