Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations within our organization for 4 small to mid scale Motels/Hotels and 2 Gas stations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership in financial planning, analysis, and management of accounting systems to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide insights into financial performance.
- Ensure accurate account reconciliation and account analysis to maintain data integrity.
- Implement and maintain accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other relevant platforms to streamline financial processes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently and accurately.
- Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships to optimize financial resources.
- Provide leadership and training to finance staff to foster a high-performing team environment.
Skills
- This is a new position, experience is setting up the systems and processes from scratch will be required
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and account reconciliation.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis techniques.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Leadership abilities to guide a finance team towards operational excellence.
- Hospitality Experience will be an Asset
This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated finance professional to contribute significantly to our organization’s success through expert management of our financial systems and strategies.
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
