Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Part-Time Floral Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for floral artistry, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to create stunning floral arrangements for various occasions. This role offers an opportunity to showcase your design talents in a dynamic retail environment, contributing to memorable customer experiences and enhancing our store’s visual appeal. This job would be perfect for a retired florist looking to re-enter the job force to keep busy one or two days a week, or for a student with limited availability.
Responsibilities
- Design and assemble floral arrangements for events, everyday displays, and special occasions, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal
- Assist customers in selecting flowers and related products, providing expert advice on floral choices and care instructions
- Maintain the freshness and quality of flowers by proper handling, storage, and rotation of stock
- Manage merchandising displays to attract customers and promote seasonal or promotional items effectively
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments accurately
- Support landscape maintenance tasks as needed to enhance the overall store environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional customer service
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
Requirements
- Prior experience in floral design or related fields such as gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in arrangement creation and inventory management
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Familiarity with retail sales processes, cashiering, POS systems, and e-commerce platforms is advantageous
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Knowledge of merchandising strategies to enhance product presentation and sales performance
- Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility around peak business times; weekend availability is a plus
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $15.00 per hour
