We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role is integral to supporting sales and production operations by ensuring timely and accurate procurement activities to help meet organizational targets.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Responsible for procurement and purchasing activities
- Prepare, review and issue purchase orders using system software
- Receive purchase orders into the system and update product inventory and costing
- Proactively communicate with Sales staff, Production Staff, and other departments with respect to pricing, lead-times, product delays, .
- Communicate regularly with suppliers with regards to lead times, delivery, order specifics, RMA
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of purchase orders
- Proactively follow up with Sales and/or Production to confirm purchasing requirements, ensuring timely purchase of goods to meet customer demands
- Update reports on a daily basis so that production/sales staff are aware of delivery dates
- Process weekly sales/purchasing/inventory reports and distribute to staff
- Researches sources of supply and advises on cost effective alternatives.
- Create new supplier accounts as necessary
- Validate, reconcile, and process receiving reports, vendor invoices, and other payment documents; Responsible for cost accuracy on purchase orders and invoice discrepancies.
- Inventory tracking (advise when negatives occur)
- Negotiate pricing and payment terms (including blanket pricing).
- Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Post-secondary diploma and/or equivalent certification or experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Familiarity with procurement concepts, best practices, and purchasing procedures.
- Understanding of logistics methods and import/customs procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent analytical, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
