The Crew Lead is responsible for the successful execution of residential roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, and eavestrough projects while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role is accountable for crew performance, jobsite safety, installation quality, productivity, documentation, and communication with the Production Department.
The Crew Lead is expected to lead by example, uphold Gerry's Roofing & Siding's core values of Excellence, Integrity, Teamwork, and Accountability, and ensure every project is completed right the first time with no deficiencies, callbacks, or warranty concerns.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Installation
- Lead and manage the daily activities of the installation crew.
- Review project scope, work orders, material lists, and installation requirements before work begins.
- Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable building codes.
- Install and supervise the installation of roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, eavestrough, skylights, and related exterior components.
- Identify site conditions, deficiencies, or scope discrepancies and communicate them immediately to Production Management.
- Ensure projects are completed efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Deliver projects with a focus on "single-call installations" and zero warranty callbacks.
Production & Scheduling
- Coordinate daily with the Production Team regarding project priorities and scheduling.
- Ensure crews arrive on site prepared with all required tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain productivity targets established by the company.
- Report material shortages, damaged products, or site delays immediately.
- Assist in planning labour requirements and crew assignments to maximize efficiency.
Quality Control
- Perform ongoing quality inspections throughout the installation process.
- Verify all project details match approved scopes and change orders.
- Ensure workmanship meets or exceeds company quality standards.
- Complete final quality inspections before leaving each project.
- Address deficiencies immediately and proactively.
Customer Experience
- Introduce yourself to homeowners upon arrival and maintain professional communication throughout the project.
- Keep customers informed of project progress, schedule changes, and unexpected site conditions.
- Ensure homeowners are treated respectfully and their property is protected at all times.
- Represent Gerry's Roofing & Siding professionally both on and off the jobsite.
- Escalate customer concerns to Production Management immediately.
Safety Leadership
- Conduct daily safety reviews and ensure all crew members follow company safety policies.
- Enforce fall protection requirements, ladder safety, equipment inspections, and PPE compliance.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Stop work immediately when unsafe conditions exist.
- Report incidents, near misses, and hazards to management promptly.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and compliance programs.
Documentation & Technology
- Upload required jobsite photos before, during, and after installation.
- Document completed work, deficiencies, site conditions, and change requests through company systems.
- Submit labour hours, material usage, and project updates daily.
- Ensure all project documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Assist Production Management with project closeout requirements.
Leadership & Team Development
- Train and mentor installers and labourers.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and professional team culture.
- Ensure crew members understand installation standards and company expectations.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members.
- Lead by example through professionalism, workmanship, punctuality, and attitude.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 3 years experience in residential roofing, siding, or exterior renovations.
- Proven leadership experience supervising installation crews.
- Strong knowledge of residential exterior construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, scopes of work, and construction drawings.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry 80-pound bundles of shingles and climb multi-storey ladders.
Preferred
- Working at Heights Certification.
- First Aid / CPR Certification.
- Manufacturer installation certifications.
- Experience using digital project management systems and mobile applications.

Pay: $26.00-$46.00 per hour
