Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. This role is essential in supporting various phases of construction projects, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled tradespeople. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with hand tools, carpentry, or blueprint reading is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate. Duties
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing and organizing work areas
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform tasks such as framing, caulking, and basic carpentry
- Support skilled tradespeople with tasks related to plumbing, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, and restoration projects
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to assist with project layouts and measurements
- Mix and apply construction paint or other finishing materials as needed
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, including lifting, carrying, and organizing supplies
- Support installation of flooring, tiles, or other surface finishes under supervision
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience with hand tools, carpentry, or general construction is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Ability to read schematics or blueprints is advantageous
- Knowledge of caulking, restoration techniques, or plumbing is a plus
- Willingness to learn new skills such as welding or flooring installation
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work on-site at various locations
