Overhead Crane Service Technician
Sling-Choker Mfg. Group has an immediate opening for an Overhead Crane Service Technician serving the Thunder Bay and Dryden area.

The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically inclined, safety-focused, self-motivated, and comfortable working directly with customers. Previous overhead crane experience is an asset, but candidates with experience or education as an electrician, electrical technician, or mechanical technician will also be considered. Training is available to help fill any skill gaps.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead cranes and hoists at customer sites throughout Northwestern Ontario
- Perform visual inspections and use technical test equipment to identify failures or malfunctions
- Clearly document inspection findings, service work, deficiencies, and recommended repairs
- Complete electronic inspection reports using Sling-Choker’s online inspection software
- Prepare service reports and other documentation in a clear and professional manner
- Maintain company-supplied tools, equipment, vehicles, and assets in a clean, safe, and working condition
- Follow applicable safety regulations and industry standards, including OHSA, CSA, and ANSI requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-driven, reliable, and able to work independently
- Friendly and professional attitude when working with customers

Compensation will be based on experience and responsibilities and may include opportunities for commissions.
Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
