Matrix HR is seeking experienced Lead Hand Operators to support mining and heavy civil operations on remote project sites in Manitoba and Ontario. This position is ideal for operators who enjoy leading crews while remaining actively involved in production work.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate equipment operators and labour crews
- Ensure production targets and project schedules are achieved
- Operate excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment as required
- Assist Foremen with daily planning and crew assignments
- Promote a strong safety culture on site
- Conduct equipment and work area inspections
Requirements
- Extensive experience operating heavy equipment in mining or heavy civil construction
- Previous Lead Hand or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong understanding of excavation, haul road construction, earthworks, and production mining
- Ability to lead crews in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with GPS machine control systems considered an asset
- Ability to work rotational camp schedules
- Ability to pass Criminal Record Check and Drug & Alcohol Testing
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Project Information
- Must be willing and able to work both day and night shifts
- Shifts rotate every 20-day rotation (20 days on dayshift, 10 days off, then 20 days on nightshift)
- Must be able to work a 20 Days On / 10 Days Off rotational schedule
- Must be able to pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol Test (including marijuana)
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
- Must be comfortable working in remote camp-based mining environments
