Job Title: Restaurant Supervisor

Position Summary:
The Restaurant Supervisor at Region Food + Bar plays a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operations of the front of house. This position supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing service standards, team performance, guest satisfaction, and restaurant cleanliness and organization. The Supervisor leads by example, maintains the highest level of professionalism, and ensures our brand’s core values are upheld in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Front of House Operations
- Supervise daily FOH operations, ensuring a seamless dining experience from open to close.
- Oversee server sections, host station, bar service timing, and service standards across all guest-facing areas.
- Ensure all opening, shift change, and closing duties are completed as per the Daily Task List.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and ambiance of the dining room, bar, restrooms, and patio (when in season).
- Monitor service timing and flow to ensure meals are delivered to guests in a timely manner.
- Conduct walkthroughs during service to monitor guest satisfaction and staff performance.
- Maintain communication between kitchen and FOH to ensure coordinated execution.
2. Staff Supervision and Support
- Support and mentor FOH team members including servers, hosts, bartenders, server assistants, and runners.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to communicate special items, promotions, and service updates.
- Manage team scheduling during shifts, break coverage, and floor supervision.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and address performance or behavioural issues respectfully and professionally.
- Ensure staff are compliant with Region’s grooming, uniform, and customer service standards.
3. Training and Development
- Assist with onboarding new FOH staff, ensuring training checklists are completed and standards are met.
- Train team members on POS, menu knowledge, guest service, safety practices, and upselling techniques.
- Provide consistent feedback and performance reviews in collaboration with management.
4. Guest Experience & Conflict Resolution
- Act as the first point of contact for guest concerns, complaints, or special requests.
- Handle issues with discretion, empathy, and professionalism to ensure guest satisfaction and retention.
- Record and report incidents or guest feedback in the appropriate communication logs or platforms.
- Build regular rapport with repeat guests and maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere at all times.
5. Administration & Reporting
- Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving (for FOH supplies, uniforms, or bar).
- Accurately complete shift reports and staff performance logs.
- Ensure compliance with AGCO, Smart Serve, and food safety standards.
- Monitor voids, discounts, and comps and ensure proper authorization is followed.
- Communicate daily updates, shift notes, and issues to the management team via designated platforms.
6. Safety, Sanitation & Compliance
- Enforce adherence to food safety and alcohol service regulations.
- Conduct routine health & safety checks throughout the shift.
- Ensure FOH staff follow allergen procedures and guest dietary accommodations correctly.
- Support evacuation or emergency procedures when needed.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage conflict with professionalism.
- Thorough knowledge of POS systems (e.g., Touch Bistro, Silverware, or similar).
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
- Smart Serve Certification required.
- Food Handler Certificate is considered an asset.
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (6+ hours per shift).
