We are a third generation, family-owned business with technicians bringing years of knowledge to facilities across Ontario. The ideal candidate will reside between Vaughan and Barrie. The Equipment Installer is responsible for the installation, assembly, commissioning, and testing of automotive and industrial equipment at customer locations. This position works closely with project managers, service technicians, and customers to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer specifications while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Installation
- Install automotive and industrial equipment including:
- Vehicle hoists
- Air compressors and compressed air piping systems
- Pressure washers
- Hydraulic power units
- Lubrication systems
- Car wash equipment
- Shop equipment and accessories
- Assemble and position equipment according to drawings and specifications.
- Install anchors, supports, brackets, piping, conduit, and mounting hardware.
- Perform equipment startup, testing, and commissioning.
- Verify proper operation prior to customer handover.
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site drawings, and installation instructions.
- Prepare job sites for installation activities.
- Coordinate with project managers regarding project progress.
- Communicate site issues, delays, or material shortages promptly.
- Complete installations within scheduled timelines.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Conduct work safely while using power tools, lifts, and heavy equipment.
- Identify and report workplace hazards immediately.
- Complete daily job reports and installation documentation.
- Record materials used and report additional material requirements.
- Document deficiencies, change requests, and customer concerns.
- Take photographs of completed installations when required.
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites.
- Communicate courteously with customers and other trades.
- Explain completed work and answer basic operational questions.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working order.
- Report damaged or missing tools immediately.
- Ensure vehicles remain clean and stocked with required materials.
Qualifications
- Experience installing industrial, mechanical, or automotive equipment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools.
- Ability to read measuring devices accurately.
- Ability to interpret installation drawings and technical instructions.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems is an asset.
- Welding or fabrication experience is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions.
- Valid G class driver's licence with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel throughout Ontario as required.
- Working at Heights certification (or willingness to obtain).
- WHMIS certification.
- Elevated Work Platform certification is an asset.
- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Fall Protection training is an asset.
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
