Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and hygiene practices. Duties
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies
- Assist with patient examinations and recordkeeping using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Provide support during various dental procedures, including orthodontic treatments and pediatric dentistry
- Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns or questions effectively
- Maintain sterilization protocols and uphold infection control standards in accordance with OSHA regulations
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow, and follow-up care instructions
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care and foster a positive environment
Qualifications
- Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the province of Ontario
- Prior experience in dental offices, with proficiency in dental assisting preferred
- Knowledge of Abeldent or similar dental management software is required
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety
