HSE Manager
Location: Grande Prairie or Red Deer, Alberta

Medallion Energy Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead and continuously improve our Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
This leadership role is responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining COR certification, supporting operational excellence, and promoting environmental stewardship across our organization. The HSE Manager works closely with operations, employees, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
This position offers a balance of office and field responsibilities, with approximately 70% office-based work and 30% field work supporting operations and engaging with employees and clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Company's HSE Management System.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta OH&S legislation, environmental regulations, client requirements, and industry standards.
- Manage COR certification, internal audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
- Develop and deliver employee and contractor safety training, orientations, and competency programs.
- Oversee environmental compliance, emergency response planning, and fleet safety programs.
- Manage electronic compliance systems, safety databases, and client compliance platforms.
- Monitor HSE performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide regular reporting to leadership.
- Build strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and operational teams while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- NCSO, CRSP, or a similar professional designation is considered an asset.
- 7–10 years of progressive HSE experience.
- 3–5 years of leadership or management experience.
- Experience within the energy services, industrial, construction, instrumentation, electrical, or related industries is preferred.
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation and environmental regulations.
- Experience managing COR certification and audit programs.
- Excellent understanding of hazard assessment, risk management, and incident investigations.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic HSE management systems.
- Ability to analyze data, develop reports, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
