Shifts: 0600–1800 and 1800–0600

Deployment: Employees may be deployed to alternate sites to support full-time hours

Payrate: $ 20.00/hour

Candidates holding an R2 clearance will receive a $100 signing bonus.

Key responsibilities:
-
Based on specific site posting, log and report all incidents reported by SJPA staff or visitors
-
Patrol interior and exterior of facility preventing unauthorized entry; in a composed manner direct individuals initiating disruption to leave the premises

While on patrol, monitor risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical issues, hazardous material and additional breaches of security
-
Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance. Monitoring situations, cameras, property and events
-
Communicate in a truthful and receptive manner under all circumstances as well as provide information regarding the facility as requested by personnel

Sustain effective relationships with key managers and visitors through courteous and respectful relations perceived from their viewpoint
-
Monitor and screen visitors and clients in a professional manner in order to grant access to the facility
-
Access control to monitor, record and submit written reports of the arrival of all vessels in each respective zone including arrival/departure time and berth location
Prerequisites:
-
Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
-
MTSC (Marine Transportation Security Clearance) - R2 Clearance
-
Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)

Valid class 5 Driver License & a clean Driver's Abstract
-
Must have a Work History in Canada for 5 years
-
English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
-
Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
-
Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
