Job Description
This is a short-term, evening shift, seasonal position for the remainder of our busy season, with an expected duration of approximately 8 to 12 weeks, dependent on production volume with potential to fill a permanent role at the end of the season. Shifts will be 3:30pm - 12am.
Northern Truss Ltd., located in Fort St. John, BC. is looking for a hardworking and reliable Table Builder to join our production team. We design and manufacture roof and floor trusses for residential, commercial, and farm projects in the Peace River area and beyond.

What You’ll Do
- Assemble Trusses: As the Lead Shift Builder you will be responsible for setting the table jigs and assembling trusses according to engineered design shop drawings. Safely & accurately place truss components onto the set-up table. This will include pre-cut lumber members as well as steel connector plates.
- Operate Equipment: You will use common hand and pneumatic tools and operate the roller presses in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Quality Control: Everyone in production has a role to perform in quality control. Accurate web & plate placement is necessary to meet structural design standards. Careful handling of the completed trusses ensures our customers receive quality products.
- Material Handling: Lumber and steel connecting plates must all be received, stocked and used as necessary. Finished trusses must be stacked and then banded together into sets.
- Collaborate: You will work closely with the design and assembly teams to meet daily production targets.
What We’re Looking For
- Reliability: You are expected to arrive at work each day and on time. A valid driver’s license is a major asset. In a manufacturing facility, everyone’s role contributes to efficient and effective productivity.
- Physical Fitness: You must be able to stand and maneuver truss components for an entire shift.
- Skills: You will have proficient experience with common measuring and building practices. Role-specific training will be provided, with expectation of meeting daily production targets. There is opportunity for role advancement.
- Teamwork: You will be expected to work well with others.
- Attitude: We expect everyone to develop a “get it done” mindset.
