Job Overview
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and energetic Out of School Care (OSC) Educator to join our daycare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing safe, engaging, and supportive care for school-aged children before and after school. This role focuses on creating a positive environment that encourages social development, creativity, and active play while ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the program.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in before and after school care programs
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment at all times
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and enrichment opportunities
- Plan and organize field trips and excursions, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
- Support and implement engaging summer program activities and themed programming
- Support children with homework, social interaction, and daily routines
- Maintain effective supervision during indoor and outdoor play
- Ensure children are signed in/out according to centre policies
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding daily updates and concerns
- Follow all childcare licensing regulations, centre policies, and safety procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program space
- Work collaboratively with other educators to ensure smooth program operations
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with school-aged children in a childcare or recreational setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage groups of children in a safe and positive manner
- Responsible, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
- Knowledge of child development and behaviour guidance strategies
- Strong knowledge of Childcare licensing regulations and Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines is required
- Knowledge of summer programming and school-age recreational planning is an asset
- Valid Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or Level 3 certification (required)
- First Aid & CPR certification (required)

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
