Job Summary
Braeside EM Church is inviting applications for the position of Ministries Coordinator.
This part-time position will oversee and support key ministries (Children’s Ministries, Youth Ministry, and Young Adults) and develop new initiatives to fill gaps and foster church growth.
The role requires strong communication skills, a heart for teaching and mentoring, and the ability to foster spiritual growth across all generations within the church family. It also calls for a passion for evangelism, discipleship, spiritual formation, and service.
The successful candidate will work alongside ministry leaders and pastoral staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Children’s Ministry: Oversee and provide support for Children’s Ministries (Including Sunday School and VBS), recruit and train teachers, and organize annual workshops
- Youth Ministry: Provide leadership and support for youth leaders, coordinate events and teach occasionally
- Young Adults: Connect with post-secondary young adults and occasionally lead Bible studies
- Develop ministries to fill in gaps and foster church growth
- Help plan and execute outreach events and community ministries
- Care Groups: Develop and coordinate Care Groups within church
Additional Responsibilities, As Able (within work hours/as the position grows):
- Develop mentorship programs for new believers
- Assist in congregation care
Qualifications & Expectations:
- Agreement with the EMC Statement of Faith
- Collaborative spirit with the ability to work alongside ministerial and pastoral staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to people of all ages
- Openness to mentorship and professional growth
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Bible college an asset
- Demonstrated passion for soul winning, discipleship, spiritual formation, and service
