Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food service, hospitality, and customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting kitchen operations, food preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Prior experience in food service is preferred, however, a candidate with a strong positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. This position also offers many opportunities to learn and grow within the establishment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking to ensure the best quality of food
- Support kitchen staff with meal assembly and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and waste disposal
- Handle food safely in compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Operate POS systems for order processing and cashiering duties
- Serve food to guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience with POS systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures and maintaining hygiene standards in a kitchen setting
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; prior experience in serving or cashiering is advantageous
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Food Handlers, Smart Serve, First Aid
