Barry Enterprises Protection & Security Services is actively recruiting professional, disciplined, and high performing individuals to join our Summer Events Division as Elite Protection Event Guards.
This is an opportunity to become part of a fast paced operational team responsible for securing festivals, concerts, nightlife venues, corporate functions, community events, and special event deployments throughout Alberta.
We are seeking individuals who demonstrate exceptional situational awareness, professional deportment, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate confidently in dynamic public environments.
Our Elite Protection Team represents the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, visibility, and operational excellence within the event security industry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence at assigned venues and events
- Monitor crowd activity and identify potential safety concerns before escalation
- Assess risks and make sound operational decisions in fast moving environments
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining authority and professionalism
- Communicate effectively with clients, patrons, event organizers, emergency services, and team members
- Liaise professionally with law enforcement, EMS, fire services, and venue management when required
- Enforce venue policies, event rules, and operational directives
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity reports, and operational documentation
- Follow all post orders, company policies, provincial regulations, and client expectations
- Conduct yourself with professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment at all times
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous event security experience
- Previous nightlife, crowd management, or hospitality security experience
- ProServe Certification
- ProTect Certification
- Standard First Aid and CPR
- OFA Level 1 or OFA Level 2 considered an asset
- Additional industry training through PSC, SNIPERS Training Academy, or equivalent professional development programs considered an asset
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Alberta Security Services Licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Professional appearance and deportment
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended event hours
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation preferred
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and operational excellence
