Seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead our team at Executive Cosmopolitan Hotel Toronto, a boutique luxury hotel located in the heart of downtown Toronto. The candidate will bring extensive expertise in hotel management, a passion for inspiring teams, and a history of achieving exceptional guest satisfaction. In the role of General Manager, you will lead all facets of hotel, committed to creating an outstanding experience for both guests and team members.
Duties:
- Provide strategic leadership to Guest Services, Bellman, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Maintenance Departments.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment by managing and mentoring employees.
- Ensure positive morale and cohesiveness within the hotel, maintaining an open-door policy for all levels of employees.
- Collaborate closely with the financial controller to craft effective financial strategies, aligning departmental goals with the hotel’s broader financial objectives.
- Achieve assigned departmental budgets, monitoring financial statements with the property controller.
- Develop and implement performance management and training programs that promote employee growth, skill development, and alignment with hotel standards.
- Uphold quality standards through ongoing evaluations, addressing complaints, and initiating corrective actions.
- Monitor and maintain guest reviews, aiming for a minimum score of 4.5 out of 5.
- Create and manage programs that enhance guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Oversee property security, preventative maintenance, and compliance with brand standards, ensuring adherence to all laws and regulations.
- Actively engage with the local community and stay informed about emerging trends, leveraging local insights to drive the hotel’s success.
- Lead key property initiatives, including capital projects and improvements.
- Make decisions aligned with the hotel’s best interests.
- Identify cost-saving measures and implement improvement actions.
- Monitor daily business reports and make informed decisions.
- Train and develop staff, ensuring compliance with brand and industry standards.
- Uphold strong relationships with guests, partners, and the local community.
Qualifications:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field.
- Possess a minimum of five years’ hotel management experience.
- Serve as an exemplary role model and a decisive leader.
- Strong understanding of the latest hotel technologies.
