QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN REQUIRED
We are currently looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team in Brantford, Ontario. In this position the candidate is responsible for monitoring raw material, all processes and finished product to assure compliance with all regulations, GMP & quality standards.
The Quality Control Technician will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and assist in implementing and enforcing Quality Assurance policies and procedures that meet regulatory, industry and corporate standards/requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs daily GMP inspections, internal audits according to written programs and documents results and corrective actions and communicates potential problems to QA Manager.
- Examines incoming raw materials, process and finished products to make sure they comply with the company’s quality and food safety standards
- Assesses the effectiveness of the traceability program: perform daily lot coding for all the finished products. Participates in mock recalls.
- Assists with implementations of food safety and quality policies and procedures required for the GFSI audit standards, customer audits and external audits.
- Assist in investigating / completing root cause and corrective actions of nonconformities.
- Performs Environmental testing program as per standard procedures, swabs equipment, drains, floor, etc and submits samples for laboratory analysis.
- Reviews and verifies food safety records, including CCP and PC to assure wholesomeness of the finished products and compliance with industry standards and follows up on issues noted and files.
- Assists with investigations of consumer / customer complaints.
- Performs calibration of measuring devices (thermometers, scales, ATP meter etc.)
- Other related duties and responsibilities assigned by management
REQUIRMENTS
- Excellent oral and written English skills
- Skill to document findings and data clearly, concisely and accurately
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors and production floor employees
- 2 years QA experience in a food industry, particularly experience writing Corrective Action Reports
- Very strong Microsoft office skills
- Knowledge of food safety (HACCP) programs, GMP programs and Quality Systems
Environmental Requirements:
- Regularly stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ Hours
- Work environment will be noisy and at low temperature (around 3 degrees Celsius)
- Must be able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
