Looking for security guard professionals to join our team in Grande Cache
Apex Security proudly severs Northern Alberta providing security and protection services to our clients 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The successful applicants will be joining Grande Prairie's largest and most prestigious Mobile Patrol Security Team. Patrol conducts regularly scheduled checks of various locations across the city, responds to active alarms, coordinates with our Dispatch Centre, and works closely with local law enforcement to ensure our client's properties are safe and make lasting positive impacts with enforcing particular laws and regulations.
Please Note: A valid Alberta Basic Security Licence is required to work as a Security Guard in the province of Alberta. If you have completed the course and passed both exams, we can assist in the application process for your license. Applications who have not completed the course may not be accepted.
Requirements:
- Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and being able to be contacted for last-minute work
- Effective interpersonal skills, take direction from a management team
- Judgment, initiative, strong problem-solving skills
- Patrol assigned areas on foot and vehicle to guard against vandalism and trespassing
- Play an active role in identifying, monitoring, and reporting security risks during all patrols
- Respond to burglary alarms, security call outs, and other emergencies in a timely manner
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must have strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Positions may require rotational schedules for 2 or 3 weeks at a time.
- Must be comfortable working 12-hour shifts (nights)
- Must be physically fit to work and able to walk 15,000 to 20,000 steps per shift
- Must be comfortable working alone with backup available
- Must hold a valid Alberta Security Licence
- Must have a full Class 5 driver's license and clean driver’s abstract with three years of clean driving experience in Canada.
- High School Diploma/GED
- A clean criminal record check
Other requirements:
- Must be comfortable removing vagrants and loiterers
- Must have a strong understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada and the Trespass to Premises Act.
- Must be able to keep up in a fast pace and time-sensitive environment
- Previous experience conducting arrests is an asset
- Previous PPCT or CTSS experience is an asset
- Previous Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience is an asset
