Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computer Technician to join our technical support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of computer systems. This role requires strong analysis skills, proficiency with various operating systems, and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to operating systems, and hardware components. The technician will work with internal teams to ensure optimal performance of computers, and related peripherals. Knowledge of Windows is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Build computer systems neatly and professionally.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues on computers, and peripherals using schematics and hand tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components within desktops.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems such as Windows across various devices.
- Support software troubleshooting including application errors, system crashes, and connectivity problems.
- Assist customer support teams by providing technical expertise operating systems to help customers make informed decisions.
- Conduct analysis of system logs and diagnostics to identify root causes of technical problems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to perform precise repairs or upgrades on complex hardware systems.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for hardware repairs or modifications.
Experience
- Proven experience working with computer hardware repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting software issues on various devices.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams for hardware diagnostics.
- Strong analysis skills to evaluate system performance issues accurately.
- Previous retail sales experience involving technology products is a plus but not required.
