Job Summary
As the Restaurant Manager, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, food quality, team performance, and financial accountability. You will lead both front-of-house and back-of-house operations while creating a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and growth.
Key Responsibilities Daily Operations
- Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily restaurant operations.
- Ensure smooth execution of service during busy lunch and dinner periods.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members.
- Create weekly staff schedules and manage labor costs effectively.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
Inventory & Supply Management
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as required.
- Manage food and supply costs while minimizing waste.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent product availability.
Financial Management
- Oversee daily cash handling and POS reconciliation.
- Monitor sales performance and key operational metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives outstanding service.
- Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Build strong relationships within the local Sarnia community.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all provincial health, food safety, and workplace safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe restaurant environment.
Qualifications Required
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1–2 years of management or supervisory experience in hospitality, food service, retail, or restaurant operations.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.
- Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and basic computer applications.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience managing a quick-service or fast-casual restaurant.
- Food Handler Certification.
- Knowledge of healthy food, fresh ingredients, and customer-focused service.
