Construction Labourer & Grade Checker

Want to build a career in heavy construction? We're a family-owned Alberta contractor looking for a motivated crew member to join our rural road-building team. A big part of this role is working as a ground person around our mobile crushing operation — and from there, as you prove yourself, we'll train you to run excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers, packers, mulchers, and survey-grade GPS equipment. We'll even sponsor your Class 3 licence.
No equipment experience? That's fine. If you show up, work hard, and want to learn, we'll teach you the rest.
What you'll do
- Work as a ground person around our crusher — feeding, spotting, monitoring the operation, and keeping the site clean and safe
- Hands-on labour supporting road rehab, shoulder pulling, gravel spreading, and material placement
- Grade checking to keep elevations and slopes on target (reading plans and running a laser level)
- Operating a packer or skid steer as needed (with training)
- Daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections and basic upkeep — keeping our equipment greased, clean, and running right
- Pitching in at the shop between worksites
What we're looking for
- A reliable, safety-minded worker with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced environment
- Own transportation to our yard or the job site
- Construction labour, grade-checking, or crushing experience is a bonus, not a requirement
The details
- Rural projects in and around Edmonton, plus road rehab in the city — optional out-of-town work for those who want the extra hours
- Six-day weeks (Saturdays included), with optional Sundays — all overtime paid on top
- Yard is 5 minutes northeast of the Manning/Anthony Henday exit, toward Fort Saskatchewan
- Offers contingent on pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
