Job Description:
The Junior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing and presenting accurate estimates for all potential projects, based on both client submissions and project plans. This critical role ensures that projects are financially viable and competitive in the marketplace.

What You Will Do:
-
Produce and assist with quantity takeoffs and preparation of electrical estimates for all costs for tender submission – material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor(s) using estimating software to develop accurate quotation

Build relationships and communicate with vendors for the procurement of project materials

Travelling to Sites to conduct takeoffs necessary to complete estimates where plans are not available

Maintain a live pipeline report and weekly estimating updates

Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify project scope

Request, review, and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing

Utilize the current software’s being used for Estimation (Patabid or equiv.)

Experience with Bluebeam is considered an asset

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Participate in closing the bid, including bid meetings, etc.
What You Will Bring:
-
Electrical Red Seal Certification or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
-
3-4 years of experience in the field or Red Seal Certified with 5 years of total experience

Exposure to electrical estimating software (Accubid and/or Patabid preferred)
-
In-depth understanding of the BC Electrical Safety Code

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Salary Range:
$85-100k
