Responsibilities
- Chairside assisting — Prepare treatment rooms, set up trays, and assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Sterilization procedures — Maintain strict infection‑control standards, sterilize instruments, and manage operatory turnover efficiently.
- Clinical documentation — Record treatment notes, update patient charts, and maintain accurate electronic medical records using Maxident.
- Patient support — Provide pre‑ and post‑operative instructions, assist anxious patients, and ensure a positive clinical experience.
- Insurance coordination — Verify dental insurance, process claims, and support billing workflows.
- Front desk coverage — Greet patients, manage check‑in/check‑out, handle multi‑line phone systems, and schedule appointments when needed.
- Administrative support — Perform filing, data entry, correspondence management, and assist with appointment reminders and follow‑up calls
Skills
- Dental assisting experience with strong knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and chairside workflow.
- Software proficiency in dental software (Maxident is a plus) general medical/dental office systems.
- Communication excellence for both clinical interactions and front desk responsibilities.
- Administrative capability with accuracy in scheduling, record‑keeping, and insurance documentation.
- Organizational strength to manage clinical flow, patient records, and office logistics.
- Office equipment knowledge including scanners, fax machines, and supply management.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant or dental receptionist is highly desirable
