Research Assistant in Digital Health Innovation for Stroke Care
Job Description
At the Neuro Move Lab, University of Victoria, we are striving optimize functioning, quality of life, well-being, and health across the lifespan for individuals living with the consequences of neurological conditions.
We are currently conducting engagement activities to strengthen partnerships among stroke survivors, caregivers, health care professionals, the health authority, and researchers to collaboratively develop research priorities and innovations focused on implementing remote home monitoring of functioning and health among stroke survivors in the context of personalized rehabilitation and healthy aging.
We are seeking a research assistant to help with following duties:
· Assist in preparing semi-structured interview questions
· Assist in scheduling and communicating with stakeholders
· Conduct semi-structured interviews
· Assist in summarizing findings of the interviews
· Preparing for a hybrid workshop, including meeting materials and technology demonstration
· Facilitate hybrid workshop, such as taking notes and technology demonstration
· Assist with synthesis of discussion findings and summary report
This will be a part-time position. Working days include Monday-Friday. Hours will be variable and position must be flexible to meet the needs of the engagement activities with stakeholders. The position work area will be at the University of Victoria.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
· Strong oral and written communication skills in English
· Strong interviewing and active listening skills
· Ability to set up meetings and communicate professionally with stroke survivors, caregivers, health care professionals, the health authority, and researchers
· Ability to use communications platforms used for video conferencing and interest in working with new technologies
· Able to work independently and complete tasks proactively
· Experiences working with stroke survivors or older adults (>70 years old) will be an asset
