About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician to support civil construction and infrastructure projects through the development of accurate 3D design models, quantity takeoffs, and drawing production. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to develop and maintain design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 3D design models for civil construction projects using CAD software.
- Prepare and update construction drawings, plans, profiles, cross-sections, and grading models.
- Perform CAD cleanup and drawing standardization to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
- Generate and manage civil quantity takeoffs for earthworks, roads, utilities, and site development projects.
- Assist with machine control and construction modeling deliverables when required.
- Review design files for completeness, accuracy, and constructability.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to incorporate revisions and project updates.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting Technology, Geomatics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in civil drafting, modeling, or construction-related CAD work.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience creating and editing 3D surfaces, corridors, alignments, and grading models.
- Knowledge of civil construction methods, earthworks, utilities, and site development.
- Experience performing quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with machine control modeling platforms (Trimble Business Center, Leica, Topcon, etc.).
- Familiarity with GIS, survey data, and construction workflows.
- Experience supporting heavy civil, road construction, land development, or municipal infrastructure projects.
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
