As our Shopify Developer, you will take ownership of our website performance and development. You’ll transform Figma designs into high-performing Shopify pages, improve user experience, and build scalable solutions that directly impact revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Shopify storefront (frontend & backend)
- Convert Figma designs into Shopify pages
- Customize and optimize Shopify themes (primarily Dawn)
- Build new features and integrations to improve UX
- Create responsive pages across mobile and desktop
- Troubleshoot bugs and ensure site stability
- Implement scalable solutions aligned with business goals
- Collaborate closely with the founder and designer
- Provide regular updates on progress and deliverables
Requirements
- Proven experience in Shopify development
- Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Liquid
- Experience with Shopify APIs and third-party integrations
- Familiarity with themes like Dawn and frameworks like Hydrogen
- Experience with backend languages (PHP, Ruby, or Python) is a plus
- Strong understanding of SEO and performance optimization
- Proficiency in Figma and pixel-perfect implementation
- Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively
- Strong communication and time management skills
Nice to Have
- Experience working in e-commerce or with SMEs
- Knowledge of payment gateways, shipping systems, and tax setups
- Previous experience working with Canadian businesses
- Shopify certifications
