Soogadin is looking for an experienced
Field HSEQ Coordinator to support our team at CNRL Horizon. This is an exciting opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys being in the field, working directly with supervision and craft teams, and helping drive safe, reliable, and high-quality execution on a major industrial site.
In this role, you will provide practical, hands-on HSEQ support to field operations. You will help promote a strong safety culture, identify and address risk, support compliance with site and company requirements, and work closely with project leadership to ensure crews have the guidance, tools, and support they need to work safely.
This position is well suited for someone who is confident in the field, comfortable engaging with crews and supervision, and able to balance coaching, compliance, documentation, and problem-solving in a fast-paced industrial environment.
What You’ll Do
As the Field HSEQ Coordinator, you will:
- Promote and demonstrate Soogadin’s BBest culture in day-to-day site activities.
- Provide visible field safety leadership and support to site supervision and craft employees.
- Conduct daily inspections, observations, and work area reviews.
- Review hazard assessments, risk assessments, field-level documentation, and provide practical feedback to crews and supervision.
- Support compliance with the company Health and Safety Program, client requirements, and site-specific procedures.
- Coach field teams on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk controls.
- Support orientations, safety communications, toolbox talks, and weekly safety meetings.
- Track and report site safety trends, observations, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Complete and support incident investigations, reports, and follow-up actions.
- Participate in emergency response planning and testing.
- Support site audits, inspections, and reviews of potentially hazardous work areas or practices.
- Maintain accurate electronic records for site-specific training and HSEQ activities.
- Assist with injury case management and return-to-work processes where required.
- Work closely with the HSEQ Manager, Site Superintendent, Project Manager, supervision, and field crews to support safe execution.
What You Bring
The successful candidate will bring:
- Minimum 5 years of direct field experience in a related industrial environment.
- NCSO Certification is required.
- Strong understanding of industrial site safety, field execution, hazard assessment, and risk management.
- Experience supporting scaffolding, insulation, fireproofing, painting, plant operations, maintenance, or similar industrial work is considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with craft employees, supervision, project leadership, and client representatives.
- Ability to identify issues, provide practical solutions, and support corrective action in the field.
- Strong organization, documentation, and follow-up skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, diverse, site-based environment.
- A professional, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach to safety leadership.
