Residential Care Worker - Casual – Richmond, BC
This role supports individuals with developmental disabilities who live in our supported living homes to contribute and participate fully in their community.
Work hours: Casual, including a variety of shifts (day, evening, and overnight).
YOUR IMPACT
- Provide direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve goals based on their own preferences, beliefs and desires.
- Establish respectful relationships which promote dignity and empower individuals to make informed decisions.
- Encourage individuals to communicate their needs and build connections; to live self-determined lives in the community surrounded by friends and family.
- Work as part of a team to assist individuals to identify and achieve personal goals; providing input and progress reports as needed.
- Perform personal care as required.
YOUR CAPABILITIES
- Degree or Diploma in Human Services field preferred and six months experience working with adults with a developmental disability in a residential setting. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Clear, current Criminal Records Check.
- Valid BC Driver’s License required; Class 4 preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization.
- Reliable problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills.
- Able to work flexible hours, based on support needs.
