Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Asphalt Labourer to join our paving crew. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in asphalt paving and be comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced outdoor environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality and efficiency on all paving projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with asphalt paving operations, including raking, shoveling, and spreading asphalt by hand or using paving machines
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including plate compactors, rollers, and saws
- Set up and take down traffic control measures and work zone safety signs
- Work closely with the paving crew to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
- Ensure the worksite is clean, safe, and organized at all times
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience required
- Ability to work long hours outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Experience with raking, screeding, and rolling asphalt
- Knowledge of proper compaction techniques
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction
Working Conditions:
- Extended hours during peak season (including occasional weekends)
- Fast-paced and physically demanding
