We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our Operations team in Calgary. This role is ideal for an engineer with approximately five years of upstream oil and gas experience who enjoys balancing technical analysis with field execution and operational support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing production, supporting field operations, planning and executing well servicing and workover activities, and collaborating closely with field personnel, service providers, and operations leadership. This position offers an opportunity to make a direct impact on the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of our producing assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide production engineering support for operated oil and gas assets.
- Monitor well performance, analyze production trends, and identify optimization opportunities.
- Troubleshoot production issues and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Plan, prepare, and execute well servicing and workover programs.
- Coordinate service rig operations and well servicing activities with field operations and contractors.
- Support day-to-day field operations by working closely with Operations, Production, and Technical teams.
- Develop and maintain well surveillance programs to maximize production and improve asset performance.
- Coordinate with vendors, field staff, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of operational activities.
- Track project and job costs, monitor budgets, and complete post-job performance reviews.
- Ensure operational activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on production performance, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering-preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of upstream oil and gas production engineering experience.
- Experience coordinating service rigs, workovers, and well servicing operations.
- Strong understanding of production optimization, well surveillance, and production troubleshooting.
- Experience preparing workover and well servicing programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with field operations, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic operating environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Deep Basin assets.
- Process and production facilities experience.
- Familiarity with production data analysis and performance monitoring tools.
